Meet David
With 17 years of military service, including a deployment to Iraq, and 15 years in law enforcement, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Sheriff, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership to the role. My career has been defined by a commitment to teamwork, strategic planning, and the safety and well-being of Cobb County’s residents, highlighted by a decade on the SWAT team facing critical challenges head-on. My vision for the Sheriff’s Office is centered on creating a secure community where every citizen feels protected, emphasizing integrity, accountability, and transparency. As a dedicated servant to our community, I am passionate about continuing to protect and serve with your support, aiming for a brighter and safer future for Cobb County.

Cobb Sheriff's Race Heats Up
Among the big ticket offices up for election this year is that of Cobb County sheriff. Five candidates are in the race.In 2020, Democratic challenger Craig Owens ousted longtime Republican Sheriff Neil Warren, bringing GOP control of that position to an end.
Now that’s wrapping up his first term, Owens finds himself facing Gregory Gilstrap in May’s Democratic primary. Owens faced Gilstrap four years ago and bested him then. If he does so this year, he will square off against the winner of the three GOP candidates vying in the Republican primary: David Cavender, Antaney Hogan and Ricci Mason.
